In the Queens Bench

Hilary term in the fifth year of the reign of Queen Victoria
the fifteenth day of April in the year of our lord one thousand
eight hundred and forty two.

Gloucestershire.
Towit Richard Roe was attacked to answer John Doe of a plea of trespass and
ejectment and thereupon the said John Doe by Joseph Blower his attourney
complains that whereas Thomas Pearce on the twenty third day of
March in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two
had demised to the said John Doe six messuages six cottages six barns
six stables six outhouses six yards six gardens two orchards two
acres of arable land two acres of meadow land two acres of pasture land
and two acres of other land with the appurtenances situate and being
in the parish of Berkeley in the county of Gloucester To have and to
hold the same to the said John Doe and his assigns from thenceforth
for and during and unto the full end and term of seven years
from thence next ensuing and fully to be complete and ended And
whereas also Joanna Morgan on the thirty first day of March in
the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two had
demised to the said John Doe six other messuages six other cottages
six other barns six other stables six other outhouses six other yards
six other gardens two other orchards two acres of other arable land
two acres of other land with the appurtenances situate and being in
the parish of Berkeley in the County of Gloucester To have and to hold
the several last mentioned tenements to the said John Doe and his
assigns from thenceforth for and during and unto the full end and
term of seven years from thence next ensuing and fully to be
complete and ended by virtue of which said several demises the said
John Doe entered into the said several tenements with the appurtenances
respectively above mentioned to have been demised to the said John
Doe and became and was possessed thereof for the said several
terms so to him? thereof respectively granted as aforesaid And the
said John Doe being so thereof possessed the said Richard Roe
afterwards to wit on the first day of april in the year aforesaid with force and
arms &c. entered into the said several tenements with the same?
appurtenances respectively above mentioned in which the said
John Doe from his said several tenements and other wrongs?
to the said John Doe then did do? the great damage of the said
John Doe and against the peace of our lady the Queen wherefore
the said John Doe saith he is injured and hath sustained
damage to the amount of One hundred pounds and therefore
he brings his suit.

To Mr Robert Wilson

I am informed that you are in possession of a claim title?
to the premises in this Declaration of Ejectment mentioned
or to some part therof and I being sued in this action as a
casual ejector only and having no claim a title to the same
do advise you to appear in next Easter Term in her majesty's
court of queens Bench at Westminster by some attourney of that
court and then and there by Rule of the same court to cause
yourself to be made defendant in my stead? otherwise I shall
suffer judgement therein to be entered against me by default
and you shall be turned out of possession.
