Letter from Edmund Kingston to Rosanna Brooks
The Vicarage,
Hambledon,
Portsmouth,
Hants,
29th October 1936
Dear Mrs Ralph,
I hope you recieved the telegram I sent you this morning soon after I recieved a letter from your brother, Mr George Brooks, in which he enclosed a certificate of your Baptism which also contains the date of your Birth. ____ enclose his letter and the certificate, you should take great care of the certificate as the Pension office will want to see it. You will see that your brothers address is
Kilbride P.O.
Ontario
Canada
If the Pension office insists on having a certificate of Birth I suspect one can be obtained from The Registrar General at Toronto, and if necessary I will write to him for one. As we now know that you were born in 1871 the birth is probably registered. In the letter I had from the Registrar General you will remember he wrote that he had only made a search in 1869 which now proves to have been too early a year.
Yours Truly
Edmund Kingston
