Letter from Edmund Kingston to Rosanna Brooks

The Vicarage,
Hambledon,
Portsmouth,
Hants,
26th September 1936

Dear Mrs Ralph,
I have been able to make some progress in tracing Mr William Wield, whose daughter Liza Annie was married to your brother George Brooks. I told you that Mr William Wield left Hambledon and went to live on the Isle of Wight. I found that he had gone to live at Nilton, near Ventnor, but had left without giving the address he was going to. However I found that he had gone to live near London with one of his sons. I found out where the son was living and wrote to him and recieved a letter from him this morning. The sons name is Ernest George Wield, and he was the youngest son of Mr William Wield. The latter is now dead.
Mr E. G. Wield is sorry that he cannot furnish any details. He says that his sister was married to Mr George Brooks, and went to Canada, and that she died there manyt years ago, and that he did not keep up a correspondence with the family. However he feels sure they are still there, and that if we got in touch with his brother

Mr Arthur Wield

He would be able to tell more about them. Under these circumstances will you write to Mr Arthur Wield, or would you like me to do so. I think you said you believe you were born at Waterdown, Canada.

Yours Faithfully

Edmund Kingston
